Light: Form and Order Maker

Explores the use of research techniques and conceptual sketch model building to test and formulate design ideas.  The role of defining the public space and façade are emphasized.  The conflict between the natural environment and build context and the resolution of these two competing patterns are used challenge students to accommodate both.  The use of constraint strategies to simplify the design problem are incorporated.

Light Background Research

My research of light was done on the Unity Temple designed by Frank Llyod Wright. He controlled the light in this building by the way it was facing, as most light comes from the South, East and West. He covered the tops of the windows on the sides of the building to no let too much sunlight in. He also had small windows at the top to let in the smallest amount of light.
